Bukhara Refinery: Phasing out production of Ai-80 motor gasoline and switching to high-octane gasoline products

As part of the strategic plan to improve the environmental situation and fuel quality in the country, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed to switch to the production of high-octane gasoline and abandon AI-80 grade motor gasoline.

I^{n order to increase production of high quality gasoline products Uzbekneftegaz JSC is accelerating step-by-step work on transition to production of high-octane gasoline and gradual abandonment of obsolete fuel grades.}

^{This process affects not only technical and economic aspects, but also requires significant efforts to modernize production facilities.}

^{One of the main projects aimed at implementing this instruction was the modernization of the Bukhara Oil Refinery (BOR).}

^{In particular, at the Bukhara Refinery, at the first stage a detailed analysis of the current state of production of Ai-80 gasoline was carried out, including an assessment of the technologies used, equipment and production volumes.}

^{As a result, to date, the Bukhara Refinery has produced the first commercial batch of high-octane AI-92 gasoline using MMA and MTBE additives. The produced batch of AI-92 gasoline was successfully passported, confirming compliance with the O`z DSt 3031:2015 standard.}

^{For research and selection of the most optimal variant of additives laboratory researches with received samples of high-octane additives and with the use of 2 types of additives: MTBE+MMA from low-octane gasoline the positive result on production of gasoline AI-92 was obtained.}

^{In order to organize production of pilot batch, specialists were sent to study the use of additives, MMA and MTBE additives were purchased, the scheme of discharge, storage and mixing of additives in motor gasoline was developed, the program for production of pilot batch of motor gasoline with the use of MMA and MTBE additives was developed.}

^{It is especially worth noting that with the support of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Bukhara Refinery continues to actively develop, setting ambitious goals to produce and increase the output of high quality gasoline products.}
